Lisa Ching Mak founded Music Appreciation Teaching Studio in 2010. She teaches piano, music theory, and music appreciation, working with students from beginner to advanced levels.
Her students have achieved successful outcomes in Eisteddfod competitions and HSC Music, including state-level placements. Teaching also includes preparation for AMEB practical and theory examinations up to diploma level.
Lisa completed her music degree at the Australian Institute of Music and undertook further training in piano accompaniment and performance in Nice, France.
Teaching at Music Appreciation Studio centres on developing musical understanding through attentive listening, sound awareness, and thoughtful engagement with repertoire.
Technical skills are approached as part of a broader musical language, allowing students to build confidence, sensitivity, and long-term musicianship.
